The kitchen
The kitchen has been quiet since midnight. Nobody in it has prayed in weeks. The light has stayed on anyway.
Why does it feel like God went quiet?
The coffee has gone cold, and there is still nothing she knows how to say. A quiet heart can feel like an empty room. But feeling nothing does not mean Christ has stepped away. His presence rests on His promise, not on your ability to sense it tonight. You can bring Him the silence, too. There is no spiritual performance to finish before you are welcome. For now, an honest whisper is enough: I am here, and I need You.
