The hospital waiting room
Her phone is in her lap. The coffee has gone cold. Every time the doors move, she looks up.
How do I pray when I am afraid of what comes next?
Every sound from the hallway makes her look up. She wants to pray with confidence, but right now she is afraid. Scripture makes room for both fear and trust in the same sentence. You do not have to become calm before you speak to God. Tell Him what you fear. Ask for help. Let someone sit beside you. Prayer is not a bargain that guarantees the news you want. It is a place to bring what you cannot carry alone.
Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
